The Cinderella Trail

The START is on the Storybook
From one tip up to another.
When a tree falls in the forest,
Its roots heave up and over.
Find such a one
And then walk west
Till just before the edge
A trunk half down
And roots half up
Give this letterbox its cover.

Once Upon a Time, when Cinderella was a young rich girl beloved by her father, she knew the “easy” parts of her home.  There was the tall, stately house with her play rooms, the stable, the shining lake, the gloriously manicured paths.  But when she was transformed into a servant, she learned the secrets of her home that she had never noticed before:  a crevice in a baseboard, a sealed door beside the laundry room passage, a hidden shortcut, a secret storeroom.  Same world, new perspective.

Sure, it was great that she ended up married to a prince and all that.  But FIRST she had to make the decision to survive when the going got tough. And then she had to figure out how to do it.

There is much more here than meets the eye.  Look wide, walk slow, double check your calculations.  You will need strength, stamina, cunning, guile, and above all, perseverance to follow Cinderella’s Trail.

This is This is a letterbox trail because the first box will have the clue to the second, which will have the clue to the third, and so on.  You will need a compass and a map of the camp.  You may need a dictionary and a nature guide.  Every box is a triumph that should be celebrated.  This trail is HARD!  Most will not finish the trail in one weekend.  Yet do not fear - for the trail awaits your return.

The trail can be followed at all times of year.  Care has been taken to avoid placing letterboxes in hazardous locations.  However, this is the outdoors. All appropriate caution must needs be taken.

Contact the Huntmaster to report damage to - or the apparent loss - of a box.  Send E-mail to lynndragonwing@roadrunner.com, or send an old-fashioned letter to 100 Wandle Ave. Bedford, OH 44146
