There is a good-sized chain link fence around the entire perimeter of the camp. The gates through the fence are closed at all times and can only be accessed by those with permission to be on the property. The fence is not an absolute guarantee against an intruder. But it will deter opportunistic bad guys.

Cell phone range has recently improved and reception is usually decent.

 A "side effect" of the fence is that it has acted as a barrier to deer. Although some deer have made their way in, there is little browse damage as compared to several metroparks and areas of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
