The Weathervane

This unique artwork on the peak of Amity House roof was commissioned by the Neal family.  It evokes the old song "Daisy Bell" or "Bicycle Built for Two":

Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer true.
I'm half crazy all for the love of you!
It won't be a stylish marriage;
I can't afford a carriage.
But you'll look sweet
Upon the seat
Of a bicycle built for two!

The song was written in 1892 and was popular for many years around the turn of the last century. Eventually parody "answers'' began to arise. This is the one I'm most familiar with:

Michael, Michael, here is my answer true.
I'm NOT crazy all for the love of you.
If you cannot afford a carriage
There won't be any marriage.
'Cause I'll be damned
If I'll get crammed
On a bicycle built for two!
